Weekly Devotional
Hope Series: "Hope for the Hopeless" (Volume I Devotional #001)
“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
Romans 5.5
Hopefully you are sitting down, drinking your coffee, and in a comfortable place with your Bible open and looking at this picture with hope. As I look upon the sun’s rays through the tree with a background that looks like a crisp cool morning, I remember that I have a hope that will bring me no disappointment.
Every week has its schedule, every day has its demands, and each loved one has a need for your time. Perhaps, you feel that the upcoming week is overwhelming and you don’t know how you’re going to get through it, that’s okay, many of us have felt that way before. The Lord knows we are but flesh, as the Apostle Peter would say, “All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever” (I Peter 2.24-25). The very nature of the definition of the word hope is found in the fact that a person has a belief that a thing will be accomplished because it is grounded upon a faith that the method used has proven successful. Think about it for a moment, if a rocket scientist wishes for a rocket to get to the moon, he/she will have the faith for it to get there if they have done and proven the math. The same is true of our faith in God. While every week may have its trials and tribulations, we know as Christians that we are able to experience the love of God in our hearts. Our hope is built on nothing less than the God of the Universe telling us that He will never, ever, ever leave us or forsake us, and that is a promise from Him. You see, no matter what you are going through, you are never really alone, you always have hope. God is with you, just waiting for you to ponder on the beauty of His craftmanship, just like the beauty we see in this photograph.
Prayer: Father in Heaven, we give thanks to You Lord, because we know that Your Word is true and You have proven Your love to us through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Our hope is built on nothing less than the love we know You have for all people, as it is written in Your Word. Help us Lord, let every person experience Your love that has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Ghost, and may we come to realize that nothing is hopeless where You exist. Amen.

Amen. This was a beautiful read. It’s very encouraging. We have to move this week and the temptation to let our circumstances disappoint us is trying to rear its ugly head.
This was a great reminder to have hope because it’s rooted in the God who never fails. Thank you for writing this.
