Weekly Devotional
Love Series: "Become the Evidence of God's Existence" (Volume 1 Devotional #007)
“For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.” I Corinthians 5.12
As we move forward into the next week, let’s make the decision to love the sinners of this world. Did you know that it was the “kindness and the love of God our Savior toward [us]…[that]…saved [us]?”1 The Apostle Paul encouraged Titus, the Bishop of Crete, to remind his charge that it was “not by works of righteousness which we have done, [that saved us], but according to [Christ’s] mercy,… through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy [Ghost], [and that] we have been justified by His grace.”2 There is nothing in the process for the salvation of an individual human soul, except, that individual’s belief and confession of the true nature and character of Jesus Christ and that God the Father raised him from the dead.3 Such a confession is only stated as a result of a personal revelation from God the Father in Heaven through the ministry of the Holy Ghost.4 Therefore, no matter how much displeasure you express over the sin you so vehemently despise, it will not bring salvation to the soul of the person that you direct such displeasure over from your job, church, and/or work site.
Making the decision to love the sinners of this world is really found by you becoming the evidence that is used by the Godhead to convince the sinner of His existence.5 You may be asking yourselves, “How do I become the evidence?” Well, my beloved reader, we all become the evidence when we display the “fruit of the Holy Ghost.”6 When we display the fruit of the Holy Ghost, the ministry of the Holy Ghost will work on the hearts of the men and women you interact with, and they will be attracted to the beauty and the love of God you express. The fruit of the Holy Ghost in our lives is an attraction that is pleasing to the eyes and hearts of men and women in this world who have become steeped in their sins, in an attempt to fill the void of the love they so desperately and unknowingly seek. As we march on to the next week of our time here on earth, lets always remember that demonstrating true love for the lost sinners of this world is really about us, the believer, becoming the evidence for God to convince them of His existence, and it is accomplished by us “walking in the Spirit.”7
Prayer: Father, in Heaven, You are the true God of Heaven and Earth, and there is no other besides You. Father, let us be the instruments of Your evidence to the lost souls of this world. Help us, Father, to always keep You on our hearts and minds every moment of the day and walk in the Person of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank you, Father, for saving us and for revealing Yourself to us from Heaven. May we always look to You for our help. We love You, Lord, and give You all the glory, honor, praise, forever and ever. Amen.
